THAILAND PM accused of negligence

 

Former Prime Minster, YingluckShinawatra, who denies having committed any wrongdoing, was deposed in May 2014 for abuse of power and her government was overthrown a few days later by the army.

The Attorney General of Thailand on Thursday filed negligence charges at the Supreme Court against former Prime Minister YingluckShinawatra. She is accused of overseeing a too favourable rice subsidy program that caused huge losses to the economy. She faces up to ten years in prison if convicted.
