GERMANY IG Metall announces regional wage agreement


Members of IG Metall in Ingolstadt protested outside the headquarters of Audi, demanding a wage increase of 5.5% year on year.

The powerful German union IG Metall and employers reached an agreement of a 3.4% increase in the sector wages on Tuesday in Baden-Württemberg. This is a regional agreement which should be implemented in all of Germany. This agreement, stalled at the end of a fourth meeting of negotiations since mid-January, is an "important step for the organization of the labour market and the stabilisation of the conditions”, said IG Metall.
