Australian researchers have created an aeroplane engine with a 3D printer, a world first that could lead to the creation of lighter aircraft, cheaper and more efficient kerosene.

Local media reported Thursday that MonashUniversity researchers achieved this breakthrough, which attracted the attention of giants Boeing and Airbus aircraft. The two aircraft manufacturers ordered prototypes from researchers. This breakthrough means that aircraft engines and parts and products could be tested within a few days, not months.
