Ngerng Roy (33) was convicted of defamation in November 2014 for a post published on his blog, in which he challenged the social system of Singapore. The Supreme Court will determine in July the compensation amount Roy has to pay the Prime Minister. He questioned the management of the mandatory savings scheme, the Central Provident Fund (CPF), in his blog post. Recently, the CityHarvestChurch [a PentecostalChurch] was accused of stealing money from the faithful. He compared this case with the way government used money to pay pensions through two investment funds: the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) and Temasek Holdings.
