"I think it is in the interest of the community that I should step aside for the moment." The city manager of Ferguson (Missouri), John Shaw, resigned on Tuesday after the publication of a damning report by the US Department of Justice denouncing racism of the police of the city. Ferguson made headlines when a young black teen was killed by a white police officer which led to last summer's riots. The resignation of the city manager, an administrator hired by the City Council to manage the city, was endorsed by the city council.
