Virgin’s boss against death penalty

The boss of Virgin Group, Richard Branson, called on Indonesian President on Wednesday for clemency to drug traffickers awaiting execution in Indonesia. Several foreigners have been sentenced to death in Indonesia and could be executed after the recent rejection of their application for a presidential pardon. Richard Branson is a member of the Global Commission on Drug Policy (CGPD), a think tank on this issue chaired by former Brazilian President, Fernando Henrique Cardoso. The British entrepreneur addressed the Indonesian President JokoWidodo in a letter signed by Mr Cardoso and former Swiss President Ruth Dreifuss, in which he is willing to go to Jakarta to discuss the topic.
