Investigation of Ecuador'sformer president

In May 2013, Ecuadorian Justice Officials opened a new investigation into

former President Jaime Roldos who died in May 1981, in an alleged plane crash surrounded by mysterious circumstances. Several CIA documents showed that the former Ecuadorean President Jaime Roldos could have been murdered as the

plane's black box was never found and official investigations were closed briefly after Roldos' death. The ongoing investigation is being carried with collaboration from the U.S. National Security Archive and Paraguay's Public Prosecutor's Office.
