Cape Town - Expert Arno Naude have warned residents of Cape Town suburbs of snake invasion following the devastating wildfires. Black Mambas are the largest venomous snake in SA. They can reach four metres long. Arno advised that if you see a snake, you try to get away. Whenever you see a snake  moving, you should go  opposite direction; and as it approaches, a quick escape is better. Snake venom can instantly kill by paralysing muscle, suffocating the breathing and causing shutdown of organs. If a snake bite occurs, do not wash or cut the wound or suck the venom. Never use a home remedies. Tying a tourniquet around the bitten limb is best method in most instances.
