Teachers can wear headscarves

March 14 th, 2015

Muslim teachers in Germany can now wear the Islamic headscarf in class as long as it does not  cause disruption in school. This decision was made on Friday by Germany's Constitutional court. Following the top courts initial ruling in 2003, 16 regional states have banned teachers wearing the Muslim headscarf. The Karlsruhe Court claimed that a ban could only be justified if the wearing of the Islamic headscarf led to a "sufficiently concrete danger."
