Xi Jinping welcomes Chinese New Year celebrations

The opening ceremony of the Chinese New Year in South Africatook place on Sunday at the Pretoria National Theatre in the administrative capital of the country, marking the official launch of the event, called for by the Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping and his South African counterpart Jacob Zuma. Chinese Minister of Culture,ShugangLuo and his South African counterpart,NathiMthethwa attended the opening ceremony and presented the congratulatory messages by Xi Jinping and Jacob Zuma. In his message, Xi Jinping expressed his thanks for the New Year ceremony. Exchanges in trade, culture, education, science and tourism will be held in nine South African cities.
