Police accused of covering gay network

British police announced Monday that it has opened an investigation following complaints accusing police of covering up the actions of a gay network that involved politicians and public institutions since the 70s. These officers are believed to have "suppressed evidence, (...) slowed or stopped investigations [and] covered offences because of the involvement of members of Parliament or police officers," said the Independent Commission on complaints against the police (IPCC). The IPCC, which has studied 14 complaints, said the "corruption charges [are] among the worst in history."
