An uncertain peace
April 1 st, 2015
Eighteen months is too short to take stock. Elected by the majority, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita (IBK), which had promised to make Malians proud, is flouted by an unprecedented crisis. He is still far from having restored the authority of the state in the north, a priority project of his presidency. The peace agreement he proposed a month ago in Algeria, including furthers, got only the initials of Bamako and allied militias. Coordination of Azawad (MAC)movements brings together armed rebel groups, mainly from Tuareg and Arab communities in northern Mali.
