UN launches appeal for funding

The UN launched Wednesday a call for the amount of $111 million fund to help 70% of the population in North Korea threatened by malnutrition. These funds will allow five UN agencies, including UNICEF (the United Nations Children's Fund) and WHO (World Health Organization) and the World Food Program, to help the 18 million North Koreans by providing food and drinking water. Nearly 70% of the population in North Korea, 18 million people "are not able to eat properly for healthy living," and 27.9% of children under five suffer from chronic malnutrition.
