Obama removes Cuba from US blacklist

The President of the United States, Barack Obama, wishes to withdraw Cuba from the US state sponsors of terrorism blacklist, the White Houseannounced Tuesday. This announcement has been described as "fair" by Havana, who has requested the withdrawal as a precondition to the restoration of diplomatic relations with Washington. In a report to Congress, the president of the United States has expressed its "intention to eliminate" Cuba from the list: "The Cuban government has given no support to international terrorism in the past six months," the president said in his note to Congress.
