Anti-Afrophobia march dispersed

Teargas was thrown at UCT students who protested against Afro-phobia as they marched from UCT’s Hiddingh campus to the outside yard of Parliament. Police immediately came and pushed them back through he gates. According to one UCT student, Ru Slayen, police assaulted students.  Dispersed under tense chaos, one of the students, Ezra, was wounded in the ear and neck. He had to be taken to hospital. About 30 students continued to protest near the defaced statue of Louis Botha on Thursday evening.
