On Saturday, Professor SalimAbdool Karim received the Kwme Nkrumah Award at the Africa Union General Assembly in Addis Ababa.


February 2 nd, 2015

He received the award because of his contribution through science to the socio-economic development of Africa. Karim is a world renowned AIDS researcher. He’s leading the Centre for AIDS Program of Research in South Africa which has impacted international policies for HIV prevention and treatment. The wish of Salim and his group of scientists is to see African leaders’ commitment to find long term consideration of medical research.
