SECURITY/Safe election assured

Lesotho citizens do not have to worry about their safety when they go to polls on 28 February according to Lesotho Defence Force spokesperson Major Ntlele Ntoi.

He was speaking on AM Live about a measure to be undertaken after a security guard was killed while Prime Minister Tom Thabene’s bodyguard was wounded during shooting erupted between army factions. The shooting came ahead of elections intended to resolve the crisis between rival parties. One of the two army officers involved in the shooting has been held in hospital. The other official’s whereabouts is still unknown.
