Pretoria - The R101 accident in the north of Pretoria was not the taxi drivers’ fault. Eyewitnesses claimed that he was a victim of irresponsible driving.

The accident was caused by a driver of Land Rover who was “hogging the road”. The taxi driver, OfentseTshula, was trying to overtake the Land Rover, but the Land Rover’s driver was preventing him from doing so, forcing him off the road and straight into a pillar of the bridge. A culpable homicide chargeis being investigated, according to the police spokesperson. Gauteng MEC for Road and Transport said there is need for an urgent intervention since the number of accidents are alarming.
