HEALTH/NGO boosts cancer awareness

Yesterday, 4 February was World Cancer Day. The SinomusaNothando Community Development had decided to go in search of patients in remote areas.

The non-profit NGO has been a supporter of rural cancer awareness since its creation. It was founded by Dr ThandekaMazibuko, who specialises in Radiation Oncology in KZN. She was a girl from rural community and witnessed the trials faced in remote areas. She said that patients in the countryside often die undiagnosed of cancer. SinomusaNothando aims a fund raising event today with artists and health dignitaries. Funds will go towards a mobile clinic.
