Johannesburg - Water infrastructure in Majakaneng will be restored through the R9m allocation for water development, according to North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo on Saturday.

The goal is to restore sanitation services by the end of next week. Mahumapelo pleaded for the co-operation between people and the contractor. The second phase of the water provision would be implemented through the R9m allocation. Protests demanding water have been for ongoing for years. On Monday, protesters started with looting. Seven people were arrested and charged for public violence and damage to property. Community members are urged to send pupils back to school. Mahumapelo has appealed to the community and government to work together to ensure peace and stability.
