LAND MANAGEMENT - LAW No ownership for foreigners


Cape Town - The new policy of land ownership prohibits foreign nationals to own land in South Africa. The proposed bill in this regard states that foreign nationals are allowed to have a long term leases, according to President Jacob Zuma’s state of the nation address on Thursday

. He said that 50 farming companies will qualify for the pilot project. The ceiling of ownership is set at 12 000 hectares. The ANC was surprised by the end of foreign land ownership. They suggested local farmers should be restricted to 12 000 hectares farm land.
