Mountain National Park, worked through the night to ensure the blaze remained contained. Areal fire fighters contained the fire in Hout Bay and Tokai. The flames were fanned by strong winds and spread to Ou Kaapse Weg, Chapman's Peak. One fire fighter was sent to hospital with burn wounds. Fifty two residents were treated for smoke inhalation. Five homes destroyed with other damage parts, 30 houses were evacuated. The blaze has been under control since the wind has died down. Two hundred and fifty additional fire fighters and areal support were sent to support exhausted fire crews.
