Cape Town – Fire fighters are still controlling the fire in Muizenberg with the help of more than 2,000 people. The number includes 150 members of WoF programme, 50 more from Volunteer Wildfires Service and 250 fire fighters had been deployed from other provinces. Eleven helicopters, six fixed-wing bombers and nine spotters were used to contain 14 fires. Flying hours have reached 198, estimated at R2.4m. About two million litres of water has have been used. Cape Point Reserve also experienced another fire break on Wednesday which affected 13 properties. Since Sunday, 500 people have been evacuated and 52 treated for smoke inhalation.
