R24m illegal cigarettes seized

KZN - Illegal cigarettes, worth R24 million, were snatched from five trucks on a farm in eMalahleni, Mpumalanga. Five men, aged between 35 and 57, were arrested over the weekend and expected to appear in the Witbank Magistrate's court on Monday. Community members are now alerted about suspected illegal activities on the farm. Provincial police spokesperson said that the trucks were from Mozambique and supposed to head out to Cape Town. A Malawian woman was arrested in possession of drugs worth R1.5 million at the Lebombo border post in Komatipoort. She hid mandrax and dagga in a fake compartment in her bag. She will appear in Komatipoort Magistrate's court soon.
