ARGENTINA AIR ACCIDENT - 10 killed in a crash between two helicopters

 

A crash involving two helicopters, which carried a French television crew, occurred Monday in Argentina, near the city of Villa Castelli in the province of La Rioja. According to the latest reports, 10 people died, including the French sailor Florence Arthaud (57), swimmer Camille Muffat (25) and the boxer Alexis Vastine (28). The team participated in the TF1adventure show Dropped.

The television channel confirmed the tragedy, expressing their "deep sadness".

François Hollande has also responded quickly, expressing "astonishment and emotion" in a statement issued by the Presidency. "The sudden death of our compatriots is an immense sadness," he said.

The adventure show Dropped was produced by ALP Production Company. The filming has obviously been interrupted and all teams will be repatriated to France.

Other sportsmen and women involved in the accident are swimmer Alain Bernard, cyclist Jeannie Longo, snowboarder Anne-FloreMarxer, skater Philippe Candeloro and footballer Sylvain Wiltord, who all expressed their deep sorrow on Twitter.
