SA soldier killed in Nigeria

Johannesburg - A South African private military contractor died in an ambush at a roadblock near Maiduguri in Nigeria on Monday. According to his wife, he knew how his mission would affect his future. His tank was attacked killing five Nigerian soldiers with him, including his commander with counter-insurgency unit Koevoet. He was reportedly the second South African soldiers killed since the fight against militant organisationBoko Haram.  The first soldier died of a heart attack six weeks ago. Lotz's wife said that he has renounced Iraq mission to go to Nigeria and he was supposed to go home for a rest on Monday. His son Leon (22) is proud of his father.
