Honours to Cape fire-fighters

Western Cape - On Saturday, in the Newlands Rugby Stadium, respect, thanks and honour were given and expressed to more than 500 fire-fighters and emergency personnel involved in fight against the Cape fire. Western cape Local Government Minister, Anton Bredell, said their work as praiseworthy. They restlessly battled in the flaming furnace for days, endured intense heat, saved properties and lives.  The disaster killed three persons, destroyed thousands of hectares and ravaged 13 buildings. It has been the worst blaze since Cape history. It took fire-fighters more than a week to totally contain the fire.
