SA adopts antibiotic to cure TB

April 9 th, 2015

SA gradually surprises the world in the medical field! After performing the first penis transplant, the country is now trying to cure TB. It is currently testing large-scale efficacy of an antibiotic against multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis that appears very promising. For 40 years, no additional research had been conducted and no progress has been made on the medicine Bedaquiline. About 217 South Africans and a total of 500 patients underwent trials of the drug in 2013. And this year, they will be over 3000 patients. South Africa wants to win a leading position in the field of medical research.
