Johannesburg - Durban – Pretoria - Criminals had threatened at least seven Bangladeshis on Saturday night in Johannesburg. They’ve beaten them up and burnt their shops. According to a Bangladeshi source, locals entered the shop with force. Last week, more than a hundred Bangladeshis were hurt and dozens of shops were looted in Johannesburg as well as in Durban. Locals said that SA’s economic misery has been caused by foreigners who get the majority of jobs. The High Commissioner at the Bangladesh mission in Pretoria has been in contact with Bangladesh to keep their shops closed in the two cities. There are about 70,000 Bangladesh nationals currently living in SA.
