Pretoria celebrates Ho Chi Minh’s birthday

Pretoria – The Vietnamese Embassy has organised an event in Pretoria to commemorate the 125th birthday of the great North Vietnamese Communist revolutionary leader, Hô Chi Minh. The event brought together more than 400 people, including representatives of embassies of Indonesia, Malaya, Myanamar, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. The Vietnamese ambassador to SA, Hoang Huy Le The, recalled the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh in the struggle for independence, national reunification and friendship between Vietnam and other countries. He thanked Vietnamese-South Africans and international friends for their presence at the meeting. Several sports activities and shows were organised, including a presentation of Vietnamese traditional gastronomies.
