South Africa - About 20 SA companies participated a meeting with Vietnamese counterparts on 25 May in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The event was organised by the branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam in collaboration with the SA Embassy. The SA delegation, including specialised companies in various sectors such as footwear, textile, food, timber, phones and parts, were led by Brian Soldaat, head of investment Promotion Department. The goal was to promote trade and investment, increase opportunities and seek partnerships between the two countries. SA has already given privileges for foreign investors with large projects and last year, bilateral trade agreements totalled more than $962m, including 815 Vietnamese exports.
