Martin Assogba robbed in SA

June 3 rd, 2015

Johannesburg – A NGO ALCRER president, Martin Assogba, was attacked 40 km from Johannesburg airport at 8 p.m. during a trip to SA on May 22. After usual formalities following his arrival at 6 p.m., he was on his way to drop Cape Verde delegates off at their hotel when three heavily armed men approached them. One was in front of the minibus, one behind and the third abruptly opened the car door. Assogba and his passengers were forced to handover money, bags and jewellery. According to Assogba, the robbers were professionals because the robbery lasted only three minutes. A security officer and the driver behaved as if nothing had happened. Miraculously, he found his diplomatic passport and one of his laptops under the vehicle’s seat. The robbers managed to steal his carry bag.
