SA children at risk of cyber bullying

June 3 rd, 2015

South Africa - SA children are at risk of cyber bullying due to the exponential growth of internet access and services, according to an international survey. According to Karpersky Lab, in partnership with B2B international, 22% parents are unaware of what their children see online and 48% are concerned over their children being bullied. Children’s sense of morality plays a big role when interacting online, just like offline communication. Cyber bullying is more threatening than traditional bullying, according to technology attorney, Russel Luck. Social media such as Facebook and others are beneficial to the society if correctly used. However, it makes it easy for bullies to establish fake identities, defame and harass people.
