SA wants Christian holidays back

June 19 th, 2015

Christians on Thursday marched to the offices of the South Africa Law Reform Commission (SALRC). They were striking against the removal of Christian holidays from the calendar. Ascension Day was excluded and Easter Monday had been changed to Family Day.They submitted a petition to the commission, stating that Christmas and Good Friday must remain Christian holidays. The removal of Christian holidays is another form of attack on the Christian faith, according to Spokesperson Reverent SollyNgwenya. The majority of South Africans belong to the Christian faith and Christianity has been under attack in many parts of the world. He said South African Christians will not allow such a subtle attack. The commission will soon release their final report, according to SALRC secretary Nelson Matibe.
