Parents support Curro

June 25 th, 2015

Pretoria - Parents gathered around Curro Roodeplaat School on Wednesday to support the school following the latest racism allegations. Last week a video went viral, apparently showing racial division of pupils during a field trip. The school denied the allegations, saying children were grouped according to their tuition language and not according to race. Earlier this year Curro was involved in a similar situation when their racial practices came to light. Parents rallied on Wednesday to support the school because management has improved conditions at the school. A petition with about 290 parental signatures was circulated, pledging support to Curro after MEC Panyaza Lesufi promised to take strong action against the school. “The racial segregation has been remedied…Various steps have been implemented to ensure this” said one of the parents Charlene Shepherd.
