A South African student (23) survived a shark attack in the Look Out Beach in Plettenberg Bay over the weekend. Dylan Reddering suffered multiple bites missing his major organs and arteries. He suffered bites on the right side of his body, ribs, buttocks and legs. Upon arrival, rescuers found that the young man had been rescued from the water by other surfers. He was then transferred to Knysna Private Care hospital. The predator was a white shark between 2 to 3 metres long. The analysis of the surfing board should confirm its exact size. Shark attacks do not only occur in SA. Recently two victims (12 and 16) both lost an arm and an 8-year-old sustained minor injuries after being bitten in Surf City, North Carolina USA on Wednesday.
