Utah restores death penalty by firing squad

Utah became on Monday the first US state to resort to a firing squad for those sentenced to death in case of shortage of lethal injection products. The legislation, which had already been passed by the Senate of the American Southwest State earlier this month, allows the use of a firing squad to kill a condemned criminal if the substances used to carry out lethal injections are not available, as was the case recently in a number of countries in the States.
