UK to strengthen military presence

British defence minister, Michael Fallon, says that Argentina poses "a very strong threat" on the archipelago. "We need to modernise our defence system on site to ensure there’s sufficient troops and the archipelago is properly equipped in terms of air and maritime defence.” Tuesday afternoon, the Minister delivered the details of this "strengthening" program, valued at £180 million pounds,to Parliament. The programme mainly includes the deployment of two Chinook helicopters and the update of the air defence system with the installation of new batteries of surface-to-air missiles.
