As we get into the Easter period, to many people it is about Easter bunnies, Easter eggs and hot cross buns. What does this period really mean? You ask.

John 3:16 reads “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Eternal life is more than just the life that we have in our physical bodies, it is salvation. Salvation is a gift no one can steal from you. It assures you that you are going to heaven. Salvation is not only a destination, it is a journey. With the knowledge that Jesus died for us, all our sins, our pain, our shame, our humiliation, our fear, He conquered all that and death could not hold Him down. Jesus is the perfect will of God, He is also the representation of God’s perfect love for us. Jesus died on the cross for us knowing that we might not accept him.
Many of us go through life fighting depression, guilty, shame, anger and many negative feelings. What we do not realize is the fact that this is the way of the enemy from hindering us from reaching the goal that God has for our lives. It is important to realize that Jesus blood was shed to was our sins away, make us pure and as white as snow! Isaiah53:5 reads but he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. This verse basically tells me that when Christ died, I lived and that I am healed by all His wounds. Despite the fact that He was pure and blameless, He still died for us, He loved us that much. Even while he hung on the cross He said “Father forgive them, for the know not what they do.” To me, that is the perfect love story. It is time for us to accept Christ in our lives and start living for Him since He died for us!
