Smell of death hangs in university corridors

Kenya - Journalists were finally able to enter the University of Garissa after the carnage of Islamists. Al-Shabaab, a commando of the Somali Islamist movement, killed 148 people at the university. Books lay scattered on the ground between dark pools of dried blood. On the now quiet campus, police and soldiers sit under the shade of the same trees where students sat to study or chat with friends. The floor is covered with dusty books and stationary, dropped by students trying to flee the attackers.
