6 arrested for dogfight

Gauteng - The National Council of SPCAs and the Gauteng police's dog unit arrested six people at a dog fight over the weekend in Lawley, south of Johannesburg. The raid was organised based on information from the community. Two Pit Bull Terriers were seriously injured and had dislocated limbs. One of them struggled to breathe and collapsed on scene. Ten Pit Bulls and a puppy were removed from the premises possession and most of them have suffered serious injuries. They were taken to a vet for treatment. Dog fighting has become a tendency in the area. The perpetrators were expected to appear in court yesterday.
