Baby drowned, rescued

An 18-month-old boy was rescued from the pool in Jacaranda Street in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. His family members, assisted by the Community Police Forum, tried to resuscitate the poor boy. Paramedics later arrived on scene and found that the toddler had no vital sings. The ER24 paramedics immediately engaged in CPR and provided necessary advanced life support intervention. He started to breathe 10 minutes later. The child was immediately stabilised and transferred to Mid Med Hospital for further monitoring and urgent medical attention. ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, could not confirm how long the little boy was underwater. The cause of the incident is still unknown.
