May 11 th, 2015

Mpumalanga - An amateur golfer was found dead on Wednesday in a lake in the Kruger National Park. The victim, Jacques van der Sandt (29), was attacked by a 4-metre long crocodile. The predator was shot two hours into the rescue mission. His body was found in the jaws of the reptile with no trace of mutilation. The crock kept the man in its mouth and swam with him, according to an interview with SA national park ecologist, Danie Pienaar, on Talk Radio 702. He explained that when animals come out of hibernation, they are very hungry. The crocodile hunted and sadly, a life was lost in this process.
