Killer ‘safer’ if he remains in custody

Pretoria - The 24-year-old man accused of killing Katlego Ndlova should not be granted bail for his own safety. The ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) received a petition with 2,400 signatures, stating the community’s anger. Residents could possibly burn the man’s house and commit a revenge-killing if he is released on bail, according to ANCWL zone secretary, Sindiswa Nkosi. Ndlovu (23) was killed by her taxi driver and was the third women killed within weeks in Mamelodi. Since then, community members have been scared of using sedan taxis. Nkosi said it would be safer for the man if he remains in custody. His bail application will be heard next week.
